Topsy-turvy start of run chase for England
The target of 179 runs seemed a bit cake walk for England, given their hitting prowess and long batting lineup. In the very first over, Marufa Akter got the massive wicket of Amy Jones, who was trapped LBW. Bangladeshi Tigers looked full of vigor after the early wicket.

Tammy Beaumont & Heather Knight started hitting boundaries and rotating strike. England’s score was 26-1 in 6 overs. Against the run of play, Fahima Khatun took 2 wickets in the 19th over and changed the complexion of the match drastically. England all of a sudden was 70-4 in 19 overs. There was a glimmer of strong hope that Heather Knight was there at the crease. Fahima Khatun continued to pick wickets as Emma Lamb was outdone in the 23rd over.

Fahima Khatun produced a mind-boggling spell of 6 overs, where she took 3 scalps and conceded 12 runs. England batters looked in a hurry to chase down the target, where more than ample time was left in the match. The dismissals of Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophia Dunkley & Emma Lamb rang alarming bells in England’s dugout. England’s score at the end of 25 overs was 91-5, needing another 88 runs to win.

England has got itself in serious trouble. All eyes are on the seasoned campaigner, Heather Knight holds the key whose score is 23 runs in 62 balls.
