England Women continued their impressive campaign in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a convincing 38-run win over Scotland Women. The match had everything a cricket fan could ask for—early wickets, a brilliant recovery, explosive finishing, dropped chances, and a spirited chase. After losing a wicket on the very first ball of the innings, England bounced back strongly to post 200/5 in 20 overs. Scotland responded with positive intent but eventually finished on 162/7, falling short of a challenging target.

Scotland fought back well and reduced England to 139/5 in the 17th over. With wickets falling at regular intervals, the total seemed likely to remain below the 180-run mark. However, the game changed dramatically in the final overs. Freya Kemp smashed an unbeaten 39 from just 16 deliveries, while Dani Gibson hammered 30 not out from only 11 balls. Their unbeaten 61-run partnership came from just 21 deliveries and completely shifted the momentum in England’s favour.

A dropped catch during the death overs added to Scotland’s frustration as England’s finishers capitalized on every opportunity. What looked like a competitive score suddenly became a massive challenge for the Scottish batting lineup.

However, England’s bowlers consistently produced breakthroughs whenever partnerships began to develop. The middle phase of the chase became the decisive period as Scotland slipped from a promising position to 115/6.
