Legendary James Anderson finished his test career with 704 wickets after England won the test match by an innings and 114 runs.

James Anderson had debuted in 2003 and after 21 years he announced his retirement, no one could play a single format over the years until you are James Anderson. His contributions will always be remembered for England.

James Anderson recalls his banter with Virat Kohli

James Anderson have seen generations of Indian cricket playing test cricket since his debut, he played against Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill , etc. and he have dismissed them most of the times. But in this Virat and James Anderson rivalry will always be on top as the rivalry comes to an end. This banter was the most epic banter of test cricket. When Virat Kohli played test cricket in England for the first time in 2014 he couldn’t pick the form and from there the rivalry begin. Later in 2018 Virat Kohli was at its peak he took revenge of that tour and he never lost his wicket against James Anderson this was the transformation of Virat Kohli as a batter and captain too. Overall James Anderson has dismissed Virat Kohli 7 times in hid test career. While recalling all golden days James Anderson spoke about Virat Kohli and his rivalry:

“You go so up and down. Some series you feel amazing and some not quite on it and a batter gets the better of you. Playing against Virat Kohli in the early days, you felt you could get him out every ball and then recently like you can’t get him out at all. You feel so inferior,” said Anderson.

“I have never felt great at any stage. I know that sounds strange. I have always thought ‘how can I get better for the next series?’. That has helped me play for such a long time,” he added.

On social media he tweeted while bid adieu to international cricket:

“The way I have loved the sport so much, I would love for there to be people out there that have taken up the game because they have watched me bowl. That people have been entertained by watching me bowl and there are kids or grown-ups who have taken up the art of swing bowling because they have seen me bowl. That would make me so happy,” said James Anderson as quoted by BBC.
