Major Cricket League (MLC) San Francisco Unicorns sealed their playoff berth after defeating the Seattle Orcas and knocking them out of the tournament. After Washington Freedom and Texas Super Kings San Francisco Unicorns became the third team to seal the playoff berth.
Quinton De Cock kept Seattle Orcas alive
Seattle Orcas was invited first to bat first but the start was very shocking as they lost early wickets and found themselves in trouble at the very start of the game as the game went ahead Quinton De Cock stabled the innings and played a crucial knock of 62 and even solid contribution by Shehan Jayasuriya of 31 took the game ahead. Later in the end Shubham Ranjane and Imad Wasim played some good innings and took the total to 152 still it was an average score but Seattle Orcas kept a respectable total in front of the opposition.
Great day fulfilled for San Francisco Unicorns bowlers
San Francisco Unicorns opted to ball and it gave them even more joy on their face as bowlers made the day with brilliant bowling as the playoffs berth was going in their minds continuously. Carmi le Roux picked 2 wickets, and Hassan Khan picked 3 wickets conceding just 5 runs. Overall it was an exhibition of great bowling performance by San Francisco Unicorns.
Finn Allen booked tickets to playoffs for the San Francisco Unicorns
San Francisco Unicorns needed just 152 runs to score and opener Finn Allen made the day like hell for Seattle Orcas he smashed boundaries since the start of the innings and made the job even easier for to rest of the batters as he lost his wicket after the scoring 77 runs in just 30 balls and he set the stage on fire, later Josh Inglis played an unbeaten knock of 24 and even a cameo by Sherfane Rutherford of 17 made immense of contribution to the run chase. Without any hesitation, the San Francisco Unicorns won the match and sealed their place in the playoffs. Finn Allen was adjourned as Man Of the Match.
Flop bowling performance by Seattle Orcas
After a decent performance with the bat, Seattle Orcas couldn’t do well with the ball because the target was not that big enough that they could bowl leniently. Every bowler failed but still they picked wickets, Harmeet Singh picked 2 wickets while Imad Wasim and Cameron Gannon picked 1 wicket each. Overall Seattle Orcas was up to the mark in this tournament and so they are officially knocked out of the tournament.
