RCB vs PBKS: 18 years—The Roar Of RCB Champions; RCB Didn’t Win Cup, They Earned It

In a thrilling IPL 2025 final, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their title drought on the 18th attempt, clinching a dramatic six-run victory over Punjab Kings. Chasing 191, PBKS needed 29 off the final over, and Shashank Singh nearly pulled off a miracle with a blistering 61* off 30 balls, including 6, 4, 6, 6 off the last four deliveries. However, two dot balls at the start of Hazlewood’s over proved decisive as RCB won the match by 6 runs.

RCB’s bowlers, led by a brilliant Krunal Pandya, held their nerve in a high-pressure game where 190 played 184 in what was, remarkably, a bowler-dominated contest. The match saw constant momentum shifts and showcased the best of T20 cricket, but it was RCB who finally got their hands on the elusive trophy. Fireworks lit up Bengaluru as the city erupted in long-awaited celebration.

Iconic Clash, RCB Come Out Victorious In A Thriller

At Narendra Modi, under lights so grand,

PBKS won the toss with dreams in hand.

“Let’s bowl first,” they said, with a cheer in the air,

But fate had planned a twist rare and fair.

RCB with Salt and Kohli to start,

A blazing first over, crowd took heart.

Salt smacked 16 off just nine,

Two fours, one six — felt divine,.

But Jamieson returned with fire and sting,

Phil Salt caught at 18 — early swing.

Then Agarwal and Kohli tried to mend,

A powerplay phase they’d calmly defend.

Mayank made 24 in 18 grace,

But Chahal bowled him, shifting pace.

RCB 56/2, nerves begun,

But Kohli’s calm kept them in the run.

Patidar, the skipper, walked with flair,

Smashed 26 from 16, sliced the air.

But Jamieson’s seam cut like knife,

LBW—96/3 changed life.

Kohli, the king, stood tall and true,

35 from 43, patience he knew.

But Omarzai’s slower one did trick,

Caught and bowled—131/4 too quick.

Then came fire from Liam’s blade,

25 off 15, with sixes he made.

But Jamieson’s fire brought him down,

LBW at 167, no crown.

Jitesh lit sparks with 24 off 10,

Two sixes roared from his den.

Vyshak bowled him—171/6,

Death overs now, high-pressure mix.

Shepherd added 17 with brutal hand,

Arshdeep’s yorker, too hot to stand.

190/9 in twenty they closed,

With title hopes silently enclosed.

Arshdeep 3/40, clutch and tight,

Jamieson 3/48 brought fright.

Omarzai, Chahal, Vyshak too,

RCB had set a tricky view.

PBKS began their chase with pride,

Arya struck early, took a ride.

24 from 19 with flair and poise,

But Hazlewood silenced Punjab’s noise.

Caught by Salt, Arya was done,

At 43/1, Punjab’s start was gone.

Priyansh Singh came as Impact flow,

Steady 26 off 22 on show.

Krunal spun gold, deceived the bat,

Priyansh stumped—Punjab felt flat.

At 72/2, the chase grew slow,

Pressure began its silent show.

Inglis roared with shots so wide,

39 off 23, a thrilling ride.

But Krunal’s turn once more did sting,

Caught by Liam—98/3 took wing.

Then Shreyas Iyer walked in bold,

But fell for 1—his story cold.

Jitesh the keeper caught him fine,

Punjab now 102/4, behind the line.

Wadhera scratched 15 from 18 balls,

Bhuvi struck, as pressure calls.

Caught by Livingstone at long-on ring,

At 136/5, they lost their sting.

Stoinis came, smacked six then out,

Bhuvi again with a deadly bout.

Punjab 142/6, breath growing short,

Shashank now held their last resort.

Omarzai edged one to the slips,

145/7—losing grips.

Yash Dayal struck, the crowd went wild,

Shashank’s blade now fate’s exiled child.

Jamieson entered, but none from two,

Shashank still fought with heart so true.

Unbeaten 61 off just 30 faced,

But RCB’s grip stayed firm and laced.

Punjab 184/7 in the end,

Just 7 short—no script to bend.

RCB rejoiced, their drought was done,

A title earned, a battle won.

Bhuvi took 2 for 38 calm,

Krunal’s 2 for 17 brought charm.

Yash Dayal’s dot balls held the rope,

As RCB soared with pride and hope.

From Kohli’s anchor to Krunal’s bite,

From Jamieson’s pace to Shashank’s fight,

Each ball a war, each run a scream,

This final was more than just a dream.

RCB, the bridesmaid no more,

Lifted the cup, history they tore.

With grit, with grace, they claimed the stage,

Champions now — the end of the age.
