Ball tampering, match-fixing, and many more such illegal things have occurred in cricket, and ICC has taken strict actions against it. Once we saw such an incident of match-fixing during Pakistan and England’s test match three players were trapped doing it and given some amount of rupees for that.
Mohammed Amir, Salman Butt, and Mohammed Asif were banned for some years due to this, so from there Pakistan was considered blacklisted and their image too was graded low in world cricket.
Shan Masood speaks about match-fixing
Pakistan will be hosting two test series against Bangladesh from August 21, Shan Masood will lead the side, and Pakistan will be back in action after 2 months since concluding the T20 World Cup. While addressing to media Shan Masood spoke about the most important topic accusations of match-fixing, Shan Masood said:
“I can’t question anybody’s intention as you used the word match-fixing. I don’t think in the current setup of Pakistan cricket, nobody can question their integrity. It’s something which I don’t agree with at all. Secondly, the World Cup is past now and we need to look forward. I can guarantee all our players want to win matches for Pakistan but wins and losses are there and we’re the saddest whenever we lose.”
“There’s a lot to play for in the World Test Championship. The top two places are yet to be decided, and it can still go with any side. Our effort would be to make the best use of the home advantage in our seven Tests. And obviously, even in South Africa, we can gain points and win a series, which is a great opportunity for us.”
