The Hundred has been even more thrilling and interesting, Birmingham Phoenix won yet another match, and this time they dethroned Trent Rockets. Birmingham Phoenix has made their job more easy to qualify for playoffs.

Trent Rockets were given a chance to bat first however they couldn’t turn their fortunes, as the match started they lost both their wickets later Joe Root also couldn’t do any wonders but then Tom Alsop came and rescued the team by scoring a brilliant half-century which gave Trent Rockets a bit of hope however Tom Alsop lost his wicket, later Imad Wasim stood from one end but god was quite cruel he got retired out and then none of the players was able to contribute, so the whole team got out on 118.

Tim Southee rose from ashes like a Phoenix for Birmingham Phoenix

Birmingham Phoenix looks like they will dominate from now which looked from their last performance and they continued doing this. The team performance by Birmingham Phoenix proved how dangerous could be when they get into playoffs. The bowlers did their job quite well but there is one player who is beyond words none other than Tim Southee once again he proved why he is the most destructive bowler when it comes to the T20 format, he picked 5 wickets and dismantled Trent Rockets. Chris Wood picked 2 wickets while Adam Milne was successful in picking 1 wicket.

A comprehensive run chase for Birmingham Phoenix

After a brilliant performance with the ball now batters needed to do their job which they did pretty well, Ben Duckett gave a flying start and it helped Birmingham Phoenix but the partnership between Duckett and Moeen didn’t sustain so Moeen lost his wicket. Then Liam Livingstone came and stood till the end with Jacob Bethell and finished the target sparing 7 balls. Tim Southee was adjourned as Man Of the Match.

Trent Rockets had a bad day with the bat and so it went even worse when they came to the ball, just the target was 119 which was next to impossible to defend still they tried but Birmingham Phoenix was on a roll they didn’t give them a chance to make any comeback. Still in that worse condition, they were able to pick wickets but only two bowlers were lucky enough to scalp the wickets. Luke Wood and John Turner were the only bowlers who picked 2 wickets each, but in the end they weren’t lucky enough to win the match so they will comeback soon.
