The Hundred finally comes into its final stage where Oval Invincibles are crowned as champions of 2024. Throughout the tournament, they showed sheer dominance and in the end, they were the champions. They defeated Southern Brave by 17 runs.
Team performance by Oval Invincibles batters
The stage was set, the toss went into Southern Brave’s side and they opted to bowl but their decision somehow went wrong, Oval Invincibles came to bat and as usual they started smashing runs from the start, Will Jacks gave an electrifying start which impacted further batters too and there job easy, Will Jacks scored 37 runs. Consistent Sam Curran scored 25 runs and even Jordan Cox also scored 25 runs. Later in the end Tom Curran scored 24 runs and Tom Lammonby also played an impressive cameo knock of 16 runs, in the end, Oval Invincibles scored 147 runs which was quite big on the final stage.
Despite conceding runs, brilliant bowling by Southern Brave
Southern Brave won the toss but that decision completely went to Oval Invincibles. But there bowlers did there despite conceding runs Southern Brave bowlers were able to pick wickets, Akeal Hosein and Tymal Mills picked 3 wickets each, Jofra Archer picked 2 wickets and Chris Jordan picked 1 wicket.
Heartbreak for Southern Brave
The bowlers did their job quite well now it’s time for batters to groove some arms with the bat, openers gave a great start all went well but one wicket made everything wrong and so Southern Brave wasn’t able to make the comeback which cost them very badly and made there heart break into pieces, Alex Davies made 35 runs while James Vince made 24 runs but later none of the players was able to contribute which cost them very badly. Only Craig Overton in the end scored 22 runs but it went in vain. Hard luck for Southern Brave they fought well.
Stupendous performance by Oval Invincibles
Oval Invincibles had a brilliant day with the bat now can bowlers do their job and clinch that trophy, they did! Top-notch performance by everyone which in the end made Oval Invincibles champions. Their dominance throughout the season shows they deserve to be champions. Saqib Mahmood picked 3 wickets while Adam Zampa picked 2 wickets and Nathan Sowter and Will Jacks picked 1 wicket each. Saqib Mahmood was adjourned as Man Of the Match while Player Of The Tournament goes to none other than Sam Curran. Sheer dominance will continue in season too.
