Shai Hope shone under pressure and played a determined knock as his magical ton alongside Justin Greaves’ resilience has kept West Indies in the contest. Shai Hope looked determined despite problems with his eyes and scored a fighting ton to keep West Indies alive. After New Zealand scored 466/8 with Kemar Roach picking up 5 wickets the target was 531 for West Indies.
The visitors lost both their openers relatively cheaply before Hope took over and he too lost his partners before Greaves dug in to put on an unbroken 140-run stand for the 5th wicket. New Zealand have been handicapped as well with 2 bowlers out especially towards the end where Nathan Smith and Matt Henry battling injuries and that has left the Test match interestingly poised at the moment.

Seales struck for West Indies removing Young for 23 off 21 balls with 3 fours to his name as he got squared up and poked to get the outside edge to the keeper. Zak Foulkes came out to bat next.
Shields continued as Foulkes steered the ball through gully and backward point for a boundary. Seales bowled a decent over. Roston Chase came into the attack as Bracewell used his feet to drill it through covers for a boundary. Kemar Roach came into the attack for the first time on Day 4. He removed Bracewell for 24 off 44 balls with 3 fours to his name as it was a strangle down the leg side. Matt Henry came out to bat and got off the mark as well. Jacob Duffy came out to bat next and got off the mark as well. Chase continued and bowled a quiet over. Roach continued as Duffy hit him for consecutive boundaries first through third man and then heaved it away through midwicket. Roach hit back and removed Duffy for 10 off 9 balls with 2 fours to his name as the drive from Duffy was taken back by the bowler. New Zealand were 466/8 in 109 overs and with Nathan Smith unable to bat alongside Tom Blundell, the innings was closed. Bracewell continued as Hope survived a stumping check by getting his foot down on time. Bracewell bowled a maiden over. Duffy continued as Greaves pulled him to deep square leg for a boundary and got to his fifty in 123 balls. Bracewell continued and gave away 4 byes to the fielding team. Duffy bowled a maiden. Bracewell followed it up with another maiden. Duffy continued as New Zealand burnt a review for caught down the leg side against Hope.

It’s been a hard toil for the New Zealand bowlers with Jacob Duffy picking up 2/65 in 19 overs. Matt Henry bowled 11 overs and picked up 1/29 but is off the field since. What Lies Ahead on Day 5
West Indies have fought back well through Shai Hope and Justin Greaves to keep them afloat as the 140-run stand has taken the Test to the final day. New Zealand are handicapped with two bowlers short in Nathan Smith and Matt Henry and that will be crucial on Day 5. It is New Zealand who are still ahead in the game as a wicket could elicit a collapse. But it has been commendable to see the West Indies fight and fight hard.
