Lanka Premier League Kandy Falcons registered a big win over Dambulla Sixers and their hopes are still alive for playoffs. Kandy Falcons had a great day with bat and ball which gave them more strength to charge for the next match.
Kandy Falcons had a blast with bat
Kandy Falcons was invited to bat first and they put the stage on fire as batters were completely charged up and made up their minds that want to score big. First Andre Fletcher kept smashing Dambulla Sixers bowlers and scored 60 runs, unfortunately, he lost his wicket but runs were coming to and fro cameo by Mohammed Haris and skipper Wanindu Hasaranga helped to contribute to the team, and their contributions important too. Later in the end Kamindu Mendis scored a fifty and quick-fire by Angelo Mathews registered 222 runs on board which was a mammoth score for Dambulla Sixers.
Dushan Hemantha strikes and other zoned out
Dambulla Sixers had opted to bowl but they didn’t know that Kandy Falcons would zone out them in a single innings still in this aggressive batting Dushan Hemantha stood as an outstanding bowler conceded just 14 runs and picked 3 wickets just a single positive outcome from Dambulla Sixers.
Kusal Perera’s innings went in vain
So the target was quite big for Dambulla Sixers and they needed a great start they got a solid start but the batters couldn’t stabilize themselves and so they lost the wickets from one side while Kusal Perera stood from the other end but support was nil and he took the game forward in between Mark Chapman came but he too lost his wicket after scoring 24 runs. In the end, Kusal Perera lost his wicket after a brilliant 74 runs and so they failed to make the run chase. Still, they fought well to climb a mammoth total.
Great teamwork by Kandy Falcons bowlers
After posting a mammoth total onboard, the Kandy Falcons had a job to bowl out Dambulla Sixers batters and grab those 2 points and they did. All bowlers did their job well and made the win even more easier than they thought. Dasun Shanaka picked 3 wickets while the skipper rose to the occasion with the ball as he picked 4 wickets and contributed well enough to his team. Wanindu Hasaranga was adjourned as Man Of the Match.
