Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni are the most popular cricketers of Chennai Super Kings just like MS Dhoni is known as ‘Thala’, and Suresh Raina is also known as ‘Chinna Thala’. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni retired from international cricket on the same day; it was the most emotional moment in the world. However, MS Dhoni continues to play IPL but now the question arises what decision will be taken by MS Dhoni, his partner Suresh Raina wants him to continue as Ruturaj Gaikwad has taken the responsibility to led the Chennai Super Kings for the future and he was good from his side but couldn’t qualify, still, Suresh Raina feels MS Dhoni should play IPL 2025 so that Ruturaj Gaikwad can learn more things as a captain and which may help in future.
In IPL 2024 we saw that MS Dhoni was guiding him to tackle the situation, having a conversation regularly so more should be done by MS to get clarity on how the team can be led by Ruturaj and this will be the most beneficial thing ever happen with the cricketer. Suresh Raina said:
“I want MS Dhoni to play in IPL 2025, considering how he batted last year,”
“I feel Ruturaj Gaikwad needs one more year, the way he captained and a lot of things were said after the loss to RCB. However, Ruturaj has done a great job.”
“There is a lot of time for it (to decide on IPL future),” Dhoni had said last month. “We have to see what decision they take on player retention etc. Right now, the ball is not in our court. So, once the rules and regulations get formalized, I will take a call, but it needs to be in the best interest of the team.”
