Asia Cup’s next fixtures have been announced as India will be hosting Asia Cup 2025 in T20 Format and Bangladesh will hosting Asia Cup 2027. Meanwhile trolling and banters started over social media showing BCCI is powerful and how they want to get things according to them.
Pakistan will be hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 but BCCI has strictly refused to send the Indian team and has asked to play in a hybrid model. Many such mishaps are occurring and still no official announcements have been made.
Shahid Afridi slams BCCI
India and Pakistan have many political interpretations and the issue is quite old and affects sports, Pakistan last toured India in 2013 for a bilateral series since then they haven’t toured India and vice-versa, last year Pakistan came to India for ODI World Cup but they were knocked out of the World Cup. Now India has refused to visit Pakistan due to security concerns and they have requested for hybrid model just like Asia Cup 2023 India played all their matches in Sri Lanka. India and Pakistan bilateral series has stopped and only face in ICC events or Asia Cups but the behavior shown by BCCI is not fully correct concerning security, it’s correct earlier in 2021 New Zealand had toured Pakistan due to security concerns the tour was abandoned. So, players’ security is the most important but seems Shahid Afridi didn’t like what Shahid Afridi said:
“Hum itni baar india gaye hai. Mushkil halat mein gaye. Humein dhamkiya bhi milti rahi, fir bhi hum india ke tour karte rahe. Aapki niyat se pata chal gya. Humne India ko support kiya hai (We have gone to India many times. We went there in tough times. Despite getting threats we continued to go on India tours. We got to know about their intentions. We have always supported India).”
“Humko threat milte rahe but Pakistan Cricket Board and government ne initiative liya hai. Agar Indian cricket board ki niyat hai Pakistan ke sath chalne ki toh aajayega. Agar nahi hai, toh nahi aayenge fir security ko bahane bana edge (Even after threats Pakistan Cricket Board and the government took an initiative. If India has the intention to come to Pakistan, they will come. Otherwise, they will make an excuse of security).”
