Shahid Afridi Blasts PCB’s “Silly Appointments and Removals” for Pakistan’s Poor Performance

Living up to the current dynamic of the Pakistan cricket team along with the board, the former Pakistani captain, a dynamic all-rounder, Shahid Afridi used the scalpels harshly on the PCB and held changes responsible for this poor performance of the team.

In his view of the matter, the administration must give a proper time of at least three years for any system to work in order to achieve the intended goal.

“When you change or bring in any new structure, you must give the system time. Every year, a new chairman comes, and a new system is introduced. Things don’t work this way,” Shahid Afridi told Sports24.

“All the senior board members and senior players should sit together at one table and make a plan. Then let that plan be executed for three years. Let the results come. If you keep changing the system every year, what results can you expect?” he added.

Ramiz Raza was the chairman PCB in 2022; however, Najam Sethi replaced him toward the end of 2022, while in mid-2023, Zaka Ashraf succeeded Sethi.
