Gautam Gambhir started well under his coaching tenure as India white-washed Sri Lanka but in the ODI the scenario changed as the first ODI was tied while in the second ODI India lost single-handedly.
Later many trolling and backlashes started over his coaching style and the way plans were made was not executed properly. Jeffrey Vandersay’s 6-wicket haul made Sri Lanka take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Gautam Gambhir who raised in Delhi and started his career in Delhi to play for India and now becoming the head coach for India is a very huge thing and feel proud too. Gautam Gambhir’s childhood coach Sanjay Bharadwaj speaks about Gautam Gambhir’s nature and his view of the game. Sanjay Bharadwaj said:
“Even today he is like an innocent kid. He has no malice. He is like a 12-year-old kid. People think he is arrogant, but that is his attitude towards winning. I used to make him play matches after nets and he would cry after losing matches. He did not like losing even back then. So, a person with a true personality like him will remain serious.”
“Gautam Gambhir will not go after the technical aspects. Because at that level, there is no need for technical improvement. You are there because you are good enough technically. What Gambhir will work on is the tactical aspects. Gambhir’s job will be to boost morale and inject confidence into a player who may not to too sure about himself.”
We all know that Gautam Gambhir is quite strict and his focus on the game never shifts he just mixes with the situation and tries to plan something that suits the situation so he is mentorship succeeds and makes the Kolkata Knight Riders champion for the third time.
