England has produced many players over the years like Ian Botham, Naseer Hussain, Andrew Flintoff, Alister Cook, and many more but in the modern era Joe Root is such a player who made proud to England in test cricket and he has made a couple of centuries past 4 years.
Recently Joe Root smashed his 32nd century against West Indies equaling Steve Smith and Kane Williamson and he is the only one who has scored most of the test runs if compared with other batsmen of the current era.
Dinesh Karthik feels Joe Root can break Sachin’s record
Sachin Tendulkar is a legend of cricket and his records have been incredible he has made over years, his most incredible record is the highest number of runs in test cricket, he has scored over 15000 runs which is next to impossible. Many other records which are created by him is surpassed by Virat Kohli as surpasses Sachin Tendulkar’s highest number of centuries in ODI Virat Kohli now holds the record for scoring 50 centuries in an ODI, but one such record which may or may not be possible to break which is surpassing Sachin’s runs in test cricket but former Indian player Dinesh Karthik feels Joe Root can break that record, Dinesh Karthik said:
“Root has played 152 Test matches and scored above 11,000 runs. Sachin Tendulkar has played 200 Test matches. So, that would mean 48 Test matches more for Root, which would at least take six seasons. In six seasons, he has to get close to at least 4,500-5,000 runs more. Is it a possibility?
“Joe Root is a gun player, it is a possibility. A couple of things, he needs to be fit through the next six years, and he’ll be 39 by the time he finishes.”
Joe Root has scored 11940 runs till now and if he continues to play for 4-5 years then only he can reach near to the Sachin’s test cricket runs.
