Lankan Premier League As the league matches came to an end Dambulla Sixers won a biggie in their last match and ended their campaign on a high note. Though Colombo Strikers lost the match they qualified for playoffs.
Dambulla Sixers demolished in batting
Dambulla Sixers was batting first and they lost their openers within 2 overs. Despite early wickets, Dambulla Sixers kept losing wickets and lost 4 wickets in powerplay. Only Mohammed Nabi was the highest run-getter scoring 40 runs and no one contributed well still they reached 123 and lost all wickets. Dambulla Sixers had a blunder in their batting and so they failed.
Colombo Strikers enjoyed bowling
The Colombo Strikers had a great day with the ball first they won the toss and then they enjoyed it while bowling. Binura Fernando succeeded with the ball and picked 3 wickets while Matheesha Pahtirana and Dunith Wellalage picked 2 wickets. Colombo Strikers came intending to win this match and they did their half job with the ball. Colombo Strikers used plenty of options and it was a success.
Colombo Strikers got a sudden shock
Bowlers did their job pretty well and now it’s time for batters to complete their job but destiny had some plans. Batters got a sudden shock and didn’t get a chance to score runs it was so pathetic that even a 123-run target felt bigger enough as they came much in overconfidence and so they cost them badly. Only Thisara Perera was the one who scored the highest 30 runs even though he also lost his wicket and the whole team got dismantled on 95 and lost the match by 28 runs.
Destiny was with the Dambulla Sixers
Dambulla Sixers had a nightmare while batting and scored just 123 runs they made up their mind that they would lose but somehow destiny had written that Dambulla Sixers would win this match. Dambulla Sixers’ bowlers fought and won the match with great effort. Nuwan Pradeep was the best bowler as he picked 3 wickets while Chamindu Wicksramasinghe picked 2 wickets. Others too bowled very well and gave their best to win the match. Mohammed Nabi was adjourned as Man Of the Match.
