Yashasvi Jaiswal stunned the mighty Aussies in the 2nd innings by scoring 161 runs in 297 balls; earlier he had got out on a duck in 1st innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t play his natural attacking brand of cricket in the initial phase and opted for a waiting game which took the hosts by a surprise.

The Pink Ball Test commencing from 6th December at Adelaide promises to be a thriller. The Pink Ball tend to swing sharply as we can’t rule out another dramatic collapse from both India & Australia’s batting lineup. It’s a do-or-die situation for Australia who can’t afford to go 2-0 down and then make a comeback which won’t sound realistic even if it is a 5 Test Match series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s celebration are a bit more enjoyable against Australia than England- Alastair Cook

Alastair Cook was having an interaction with TNT Sports & pointed out that sledging Mitchell Starc says a lot about Yashasvi Jaiswal’s confidence. Alastair Cook gave his own example that he would never tell Starc that he is bowling slowly. Former England captain stated that opening the batting is the hardest place to bat in red-ball cricket

“We’ve seen his celebration enough here, but it’s more enjoyable against Australia than England. And sledging Mitchell Starc, saying at a certain stage, I think he wasn’t on 100, he wasn’t on anything on a major score, but he’s telling him you’re bowling slow. And I’ve faced Mitchell Starc and he certainly doesn’t bowl slow,” said Alastair Cook.

“And if he was bowling slow, I’d keep my mouth shut and not wind him up, but have the confidence to do that as a 22-year-old. I think he scored the most runs as any Indian player up to after 15 test matches at the top of the order, which I’ll keep saying it, no one else believes me, it’s the hardest place to bat. What a classy player he is,” he added.

I was surprised that India have hammered Australia- Alastair Cook

Alastair Cook wasn’t able to digest the fact that India defeated Australia in all the 3 aspects of the game. Alastair Cook said that India have been brave in the opening Test match and winning the match from 150 all out was quite commendable given Australia haven’t lost many games at Perth Stadium.

“I was surprised. I was surprised that India have gone there and hammered Australia in what normally is a very hard place to go and play cricket, Perth. I know it’s not the WACA. I know it’s the new stadium, but still, historically, Australia don’t lose many games there,” said Alastair Cook.

“I thought India was so brave. I thought that first, you know, the win the toss and bat on that wicket, you know, you look there, even though there’s only 150 they got, you know, the thought process to say, we’re going to take Australia on there. We know it’s going to be hard, but we think it’s going to be hard for both sides only, and then it’ll be a one-inning game,” he added.
