Steve Smith is one of those players who have made his name on the top for Australia Cricket and also in world cricket. His aura and presence make everyone grateful to see him. Steve Smith has been an integral part of membership group of Australia as his tactics have been quite spot on both in white & red ball of the game.

Steve Smith has proved his longevity in all three formats which is very proudest thing for everyone. He has evolved over the years but now he is nowhere in now past 2 years. It won’t be wrong to say that Steve Smith’s low strike rate in T20Is didn’t keep him in good stead when the squad for T20 WC 2024 was announced.

India won the T20 World Cup 2024 however, Australia too was in the Super 8 but India and Afghanistan snubbed them from the Super 8, Australia was at its best they played like a champion team but some things went wrong which cost them afterward. Since 2022 Steve Smith hasn’t been part of the team white-ball format, seems like Steve Smith is now been sidelined from white ball format and may be considered only for a test, however he recently won the MLC league for Washington Freedom as a skipper and he was in red-hot form. Steve Smith said:

“In terms of international T20s, I don’t know what’s going on there. They’ve got some people they want to bring in, and that’s fine. I understood the way that they wanted to stack up for the World Cup, with all the strong guys that smack it miles. I understood that. I’m not that fussed. I’ll just go about my business, keep trying to improve, and get better.”

“I’d certainly love another opportunity at IPL. I’ll be throwing my name in the hat, and we’ll see how we go. I feel like in every opportunity I’ve had in T20 cricket recently and franchise stuff, I’ve played quite nicely. So hopefully I just keep putting my name up there and enjoying it,” said Smith.

In the last IPL Steve Smith was behind the mic as a commentator but everyone feels Steve Smith should be back on the ground and shine like old wine which he used to play earlier.
