India’s Bowling Struggles
India’s bowler side failed to restrict Sri Lanka’s women as they did with the batters. A couple of Indian bowlers, namely, Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh returned figures of 0/30 and 0/35 which was testimony to India’s failure to send back a set of South African batters to the pavilion. Comparatively, bowling was weak both in terms of resources and variety, which let Sri Lanka set the pace.

Looking at the match, Sri Lanka owes it to their depth in their batting line up and the bowling attack they have. When it came down to it the two top order players Harshitha Samarawickrama and Chamari Athapaththu were streets ahead of India and were backed up by a well disciplined bowling line up. India, however, will have to overcome the problems of poor batting, as well as poor bowling to be in a position to match the standard of the like of Sri Lanka.
