WI vs AUS: Records Galore After Australia Take 2-0 Lead In T20I Series

Australia chased the target of 173 with ease with the help of Josh Inglis and Cameron Green, who stole the show on Caribbean T20 legend Andre Russell’s farewell match. The mighty Australians lead the series 2-0 now. Let’s look at the records being shattered in 2nd T20I match.

West Indies posted 172 on board in the first innings, and in reply Australia chased it in 15.2 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Cameron Green and Josh Inglis established an unbeaten partnership of 131 runs for the third wicket to seal the victory for the visitors.

Cameron Green has scored two consecutive half-centuries in this series. He scored 56 runs off 32 balls, and Josh Inglis stole the show with 78 runs from just 33 balls.

This is the highest partnership for Australia for the third wicket, and overall it’s their fifth highest partnership for them in this format.

Andre Russell’s Farewell

Andre Russell played a small cameo in his final match by scoring 36 runs off just 15 balls, which helped the hosts to put a fighting total on the board. He came in a high-pressure situation of 98/5 in 13.5 overs, and changed the momentum towards the batting team in the death overs.

Andre Russell’s efforts were overshadowed by a huge partnership between Cameron Green and Josh Inglis in the second innings. He was smashed for 16 runs in the only over he bowled

Andre Russell has played in 86 T20 internationals and scored 1122 runs with three half-centuries, and picked 61 wickets. He was part of the West Indies team which won the T20 World cup twice in 2012 and 2016.

Glenn Maxwell bowled two overs and conceded 15 runs,and picked two wickets. H equaled Marcus Stoinis and Kane Richardson at the 8th place in the list of most T20I wickets for Australia. Maxwell also has the third most T20I wickets as an Australian spinner after Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar.
