India clinched the series and took the lead of 2-0. Skipper Surya Kumar Yadav had a great series till now and the team led by him is quite appreciated. Gautam Gambhir and Surya Kumar Yadav will surely do magic in upcoming years in the T20I format.

India won the match by 7 wickets by DLS method, despite Sri Lanka having a strong hold while batting but they lost wickets in death overs, India dominated in death overs, later batters did their job and took away the match from Sri Lanka.

India won the match by 7 wickets as they chased down the 72 runs in 8 overs and sealed the series. Skipper Surya Kumar Yadav led the team pretty well and even his performance outshined, he kept his plans pretty simple no complications were seen between the players and this made the team show team spirit and they played exceptionally well. During the post-presentation, Surya Kumar Yadav spoke about his team’s performance:

“We spoke about this before the start of the tournament – what brand of cricket we want to play. This is the template we want to go ahead with,” Suryakumar Yadav said at the post-match presentation after the win.

“With the weather around, anything below 160 would have been nice. Rain helped us,” he said.

“The way the boys batted was wonderful. We’ll sit and decide (when asked if they’ll test their bench strength). Very happy for the boys. Showed a lot of character in tough situations,” he said.

The last T20I will be played on July 30 and India will aim to seal the series with a whitewash over Sri Lanka and also will try to use bench strength as they have sealed the series. Surya Kumar Yadav looked very confident and being familiar with every player there was no banter or differences seen on the ground. In the future, Surya Kumar Yadav will be one of them after Rohit Sharma who has the potential to lift the T20 World Cup 2026 and have a great chance to defend the title.
