Inconsistent Batting: Lack of Depth and Experience
This Sri Lankan batting line-up again failed to get going, and scored at a below-par rate of 8. 05 runs per over. The regular top order of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera were blown away early, leaving the middle order that is still inexperienced to face the music. According to me, the thin line and the poor psychological preparation, especially mental preparation caused a poor batting display whereby Sri Lanka lost six wickets for forty runs only. Sri Lanka’s batsmen found it difficult going to rotate the strike and during the whole time only managed to score 45 single and 15 twos. This lack of rotation and inability to build partnerships is what came dear for Sri Lanka.
