Major Cricket League (MLC) San Francisco Unicorns are through to the finals of MLC 2024. San Francisco Unicorns defeated Texas Super Kings in a thriller of Qualifier 2 by 10 runs. It’s San Francisco Unicorns vs Washington Freedom on the 28th of July, the grand finale of MLC 2024.
Finn Allen stole the show for San Francisco Unicorns
San Francisco Unicorns batted first and they had a blast with the bat they knew the importance of the match so they played very well. Opener Finn Allen rose to the occasion and smashed a brilliant century which made a joyful ride for San Francisco Unicorns during batting, In between Josh Inglis played a fine knock of 37 but Finn Allen stood from one end. In the end, Hassan Khan played an impressive knock of 27 within 15 balls which took the score to 200 which was quite enough to defend.
Decent bowling by Texas Super Kings
Texas Super Kings had a great time in their last match against MI New York but they couldn’t make it today, they failed as a bowling unit considering the pressure bowling was not up to the mark but still Texas Super Kings was able to take wickets, Noor Ahmed picked 3 wickets while Marcus Stoinis, Ottneil Baartman, and Mohammed Mohsin picked 1 wicket each, Texas Super Kings was not planned enough before the match they were quite overconfident that they could make the day happening but it failed in the end.
Texas Super Kings are eliminated, Devon and Joshua’s knocks went in vain
So it’s a challenge for the Texas Super Kings as they have to score 201 which is not an easy task but still, openers had a flying start, Devon Conway and skipper Faf Du Plessis kept scoring runs but Faf Du Plessis lost his wicket after a great start he scored 45 runs while Devon Conway was still holding the game from one end, Aaron Hardie also lost his wicket after scoring a quick fire of 19 runs, later Joshua Trump joined the side but it felt like Texas Super Kings are slowly and gradually going away from the game, as the game got slower and slower, both players were unable to smash the boundaries as the bowling was very tight San Francisco Unicorns knew that they will win and so, in the end, Texas Super Kings lost the match by 10 runs and got eliminated. Devon Conway and Joshua Trump scored fifty but went in vain.
Tight bowling by San Francisco Unicorns
After a solid performance with the bat, it’s time for bowlers to roll their arms and enter into the finals. San Francisco Unicorns bowlers had a slow start as Texas Super Kings had a flying start in powerplay, but as soon as Faf Du Plessis lost his wicket bowlers started bowling a little tight so the bowlers felt that there was hope. Juanoy Drysdale picked 2 wickets while Carmi le Roux and Hassan Khan picked 1 wicket. In the end, San Francisco Unicorns kept very tight bowling which made the win possible and now they are into the finals of MLC 2024. Finn Allen was adjourned as Man Of the Match.
