Pakistan will play their home series against Bangladesh which will start on August 21, Pakistan will be aiming to clinch the series. Shan Masood will be leading the team while Naseem Shah will be his deputy. This Test series is very much important for Babar Azam who would be keen to make a statement that he is not done yet.
Pakistan hasn’t picked any spinner which has created a buzz over social media after announcing the squad, Abrar Ahmed who debuted in 2022, and now he has been excluded from the squad. This Test Series also embarks on the start of Jason Gillespie’s coaching era for the red ball side and has urged the Men in Green to develop their own brand of cricket if they want to create their name in Test arena.
Kamran Akmal criticizes Pakistan management
Pakistan announced their squad for the two-match series against Bangladesh however it was noticed that no spinner was added to the squad and Abrar Ahmed who had a great start in his career in the test also has been excluded from the squad. Former Pakistan player Kamran Akmal has criticized Pakistan management for excluding Abrar Ahmed, Kamran Akmal said:
“With Jason Gillespie (Pakistan’s Test head coach), we are talking about the Australian mindset. But can Australia play without Nathan Lyon? Will India play without Ashwin or Ravindra Jadeja? No, they won’t. You have Abrar, but you have shut down his confidence so much,” said Akmal.
“Due to personal likes and dislikes, that boy (Abrar) has been ruined. His fitness and off-the-field issues were highlighted, and because of that, you’ve spoiled that boy and harmed Pakistan,” said Akmal.
When any player gains form after playing constantly he becomes a key player of the team and when team management sacks him from the team then it creates a buzz that maybe some politics would be indulged between him and management. Many such cases have occurred were players are given chances initially but later they are excluded from the team and their chances are almost nil.
