Lanka Premier League match between Colombo Strikers and Dambulla Sixers which made an easy win for Dambulla Sixers and they secured their first win of the tournament and will try to keep the winning momentum ahead also.
Brilliant batting performance by Colombo Strikers
So the toss was won by Dambulla Sixers which cost them badly as Colombo Strikers took the bat on a roll and runs were showering like rain. In powerplay Colombo Strikers played efficiently well and scored 56 runs. Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Angelo Perera gave a solid start but Dambulla Sixers brought a twist in between as team was 73-1 but a sudden collapse team score just 104-4 they found themselves in a fuss but thankfully Gleen Philips saved Colombo Strikers and took team’s score to 185 and scored a half-century which helped Colombo Strikers to register a respectable score. In the end Chamira Karunaratne helped to finish the innings with some brilliant shots.

Not a good day for Dambulla bowlers
Dambulla Sixers had opte to bowl first and the decision was a nightmare for them. Every bowler bowled an expensive spell except Mohammed Nabi who picked 2 wickets and concede just 20 runs rest every bowler faced boundaries and couldn’t control the batters properly. Bowlers failed to give their best and so they got the target of 186 which they didn’t expect that Colombo would score this much.

Reeza Hendricks and Kusal Perera stole the show
So the target was 186 for Dambulla Sixers but openers made it simple as they both registered a solid partnership of 154 almost they finished the game but both lost their wickets just before the game would wrap up but both batters hold their nerves and smashed boundaries. Reeza Hendricks scored 54 while Kusal Perera scored 80 runs. Colombo Strikers were clueless and couldn’t understand what they would do. Kusal Perera was adjourned as Player of the Match.

After registering a respectable total it was bowlers time to show their performance but as soon as openers took bowlers on a roll they went clueless and couldn’t restrict them. Taskin Ahmed dismissed both openers in the same over but it was too late and only Taskin Ahmed could pick 2 wickets rest others bowled expensive overs. Overall, bowlers from both end went too expensive and couldn’t control the innings.
