RR bottled yet another chase after coming very close to the target and this time lost the match by 1 run. Chasing totals has been a big problem for RR this season. Riyan Parag‘s destructive innings went in vain in the end.
Riyan Parag’s 5 sixes
RR was very behind in the chase till the 12th over. Their score was 102/5 in 12 overs with Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag batting in the middle. Moeen Ali came to bowl the 13th over. Shimron Hetmyer took a single on the first ball. Riyan Parag came to strike.
Riyan Parag hit five consecutive sixes in that over. Moeen Ali conceded 32 runs in that over, including a wide. This is the first time a KKR bowler has been hit for more than 30 runs in an over. He had conceded just 11 runs in his previous 2 overs at the wicket of Yashashvi Jaiswal.
Expensive over for KKR
Moeen Ali bowled the expensive over for KKR yesterday by conceding 32 runs. Kuldeep Yadav held this record previously by conceding 27 runs against RCB in 2019. Interestingly, Moeen Ali did this mockery against Kuldeep in RCB colors in that year. He ended up on the receiving end this year.
Overall, he stands in the 8th place for the most expensive overs in IPL history.
