Beau Webster, born on December 1, 1993, in Hobart, Tasmania, is an all-rounder renowned for his versatility. Standing at an imposing height of 6’7″ (201 cm), he brings a physical presence to the game that complements his skills with both bat and ball. Known for his calm demeanor on the field, Beau Webster has become a dependable figure for Tasmania in domestic cricket and has earned a reputation as a reliable player in the Big Bash League (BBL).

Warwickshire have signed new Australia Test allrounder Beau Webster as the Club moves to strengthen its red and white ball options for the 2025 season. Beau Webster made a stunning impact on debut in the 5th test against India earlier this month when top scoring in the first innings with 57 (105 balls). And the 31-year-old, from Tasmania, followed that up with an unbeaten 39 in the second as he hit the winning runs.

The hard-hitting right-hander, who bowls medium pace, will join the Bears squad at the start of May and stay until the end of July. He will be available for Warwickshire’s County Championship games during the three-month spell and for Bears’ Vitality Blast North Group campaign.

Beau Webster’s Domestic Career and Big Bash League Success

Beau Webster has considerable white ball experience in Australia having played Big Bash League (BBL) cricket for Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, and Melbourne Stars for who he signed for the 2024-25 season.

He was also a mainstay of Gloucestershire’s push to the 2024 Blast title, hitting 237 runs and claiming six wickets to help them secure a place in Finals Day.

“I’m really pleased to sign for the Bears for part of the 2025 season,” said Webster, who could make his Warwickshire debut at Headingly for the Championship clash with Yorkshire starting on Friday 2 May.

Beau Webster has been a key player for Tasmania across all formats, showing consistent performances in domestic cricket. His versatility is further highlighted by his role in the Big Bash League, where he plays for the Melbourne Stars. As a right-handed batter, he adapts his game to various match situations, whether anchoring the innings or finishing strong in T20s. Additionally, Beau Webster provides valuable right-arm off-spin, a useful option in shorter formats of the game.

Beau Webster – who played for Knowle & Dorridge in 2016 – averages 38.24 in First Class cricket having amassed 5,293 runs in 94 matches, while he’s taken a total of 149 wickets. And he is the current Sheffield Shield Player of the Tournament after a 2023-24 campaign that saw him finish top scorer with 938 runs at an average of 58.62.

Beau Webster made 13 T20 Blast appearances to help Gloucestershire reach Finals Day at Edgbaston in 2024, although he was not available as they lifted the trophy following an eight-wicket victory over neighbors Somerset.

Warwickshire have signed Australia all-rounder Beau Webster for three months of the 2025 county season. The 31-year-old Tasmanian will arrive at the beginning of May and stay at Edgbaston until the end of July, playing in the County Championship and T20 Blast. Beau Webster had a spell with Gloucestershire last summer and made his Test debut in Sydney earlier this month, hitting the winning boundary as Australia beat India by six wickets.

Warwickshire have signed Australia all-rounder Beau Webster for three months of the 2025 county season as a part of preparation for WTC finals

Beau Webster, the Australian allrounder, will tune up for the World Test Championship (WTC) final by playing for Warwickshire in the County Championship, after agreeing a three-month deal for the 2025 season. Beau Webster made 96 runs – including a first-innings half-century – on Test debut this month to help Australia clinch a 3-1 series win over India and a spot in June’s final against South Africa at Lord’s. He has since been picked for their upcoming tour to Sri Lanka and will be in contention for a place in their side for the final.

Beau Webster will be representing his third county in as many years, after recent stints with Essex (in 2023) and Gloucestershire (in 2024). His stock has risen significantly in that time: his deal with Essex came about when he was playing club cricket in the UK, before he joined Gloucestershire for most of their successful T20 Blast campaign last summer.

“I’m really pleased to sign for the Bears for part of the 2025 season,” Webster said.

“Having played Birmingham League cricket [for Knowle and Dorridge] in the past, I have great memories of the people and the area. I played some Championship cricket last summer with Gloucestershire and loved the challenge of the competition.”

Mark Robinson, Warwickshire’s head coach, said:

“We’re delighted Beau has chosen to become a Bear. Since we first approached him he has made his international debut which shows how highly regarded he is thought of by Australia’s selectors. As an allrounder he will give us great balance in both the Championship and Blast.”

Beau Webster deal with Warwickshire runs from the start of May until the end of July, and he is due to be available in both the County Championship and the T20 Blast. If he is named in Australia’s squad for the WTC final – as expected – then he will likely miss a handful of Blast fixtures, with the final scheduled for June 11-15. Australia then have a tour of West Indies, which includes three Tests, from late June.

Beau Webster will likely be competing against Cameron Green for a spot in Australia’s final XI, and his inclusion may depend on Green’s return to fitness after a significant back injury which has ruled him out since September. Beau Webster’s towering height gives him an advantage, particularly as a batter. His extended reach allows him to play shots across a wide arc, especially against spinners. His ability to bowl off-spin with subtle variations makes him a dual threat, providing both batting and bowling depth to his team.

With his debut on the horizon, Beau Webster’s versatile skill set promises to be a valuable asset for Australia as they look to finish the series on a high.
