Pakistan was knocked out of the T20 World Cup and later many such incidents occurred whole media was shocked. Head Coach Gary Kirsten also mentioned that there is no team spirit everyone is divided and no respect remains between them such feedback was given by Gary Kirsten to PCB. Next is will Babar Azam continue as Pakistan’s captain?
Shaheen Afridi speaks about his captaincy
Pakistan hasn’t been up to the mark in the past many games even though they lost to the USA in the T20 World Cup. Babar Azam hasn’t been good at his captaincy since the team is not playing properly and many differences were reported by news media which has affected on team. Pakistan will face Bangladesh for a test series but who will lead the team is the big question while speaking on local channel Pakistan’s speedster Shaheen Afridi speaks about his contender for being captain:
“Pakistan is first and foremost for me, then it’s the team, and I come after that. I don’t like to think about the past. My job is to be in the present and I don’t think about the future. If your present is good, you can be well-prepared for the future. Captaincy is not in my hands and I have never played my cricket for captaincy. I want to play cricket for Pakistan and I will do that with dignity.”
Earlier Shaheen Afridi was appointed as captain but he lost the series and soon he resigned as captain and then Babar Azam was appointed as captain but even then also performance remained the same. Recently it was reported that Shaheen Afridi was reprimanded by ICC for misbehaving with the head coach and not talking properly and now even the report says he has been sacked from the team against the Bangladesh series. If the team plays like a team and no rift is between the players that makes a champion team and so the environment remains happy and positive.
