How Can Rohit Sharma’s India Qualify For WTC Finals

India has its back against the wall going into the last Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. It no longer controls its destiny. In order to maintain its prospects, India must win the Sydney Test. Sri Lanka will need to defeat Australia by at least 1-0 in its next series if India prevails and evens the series at 2-2.

In this scenario, Australia’s victory percentage would be 53.50 while India’s would be 55.26. Australia will go to the final and raise its percentage to 57.01 if it wins even one game. India would be eliminated from contention for the final if they lose this series. However, the equation required for both sides may alter if either side receives a penalty for slow-over rate.

India needs helping hand from the neighboring country Sri-Lanka to win 2 Test matches against Australia but first they must win the Sydney test to give themselves any chances of qualification for the finals. It will challenging for India to win at Sydney given their current performances down under. India are completely on the backfoot and need to change their approach.
