England won the test series against West Indies by 3-0 and now they will be playing with Sri Lanka. Ben Stokes and Co. had a great start with English Summer and will aim to continue the same.
Currently, The Hundred League is going on but one bad news for England is that Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the Sri Lanka series due to injury and so it’s a big blow for the England team.
Nasseer Hussain is worried about Ollie Pope
England will commence their next series with Sri Lanka on August 21, however, in the absence of Ben Stokes Ollie Pope will be leading the team, but the intent won’t change, Ollie Pope will be making his debut as a captain for England, despite he has a great career till now as a player but captaincy is like a responsibility. Former England skipper Nasser Hussain is a bit worried regarding the captaincy of Ollie Pope, Nasseer Hussain said:
“I still see Ollie as a bit meek, a bit of a worrier, a bit of a fretter- you can see that in his batting. So he has to bluff it a little bit. Stokes does not bluff it. But he’s been brought up in the school of Stokes and McCullum, so he will just continue the exact form of messaging. He won’t be changing a lot.”
“I don’t think it comes as naturally to him as it does for Ben Stokes. Ben Stokes epitomizes what he talks about. Eoin Morgan often talks about in white-ball cricket, if you’re going to send a message you have to do that message yourself. I think Stokes does that better than Ollie Pope.”
