ENG-W vs IND-W: Bristol Bowed To The Brilliance Of The Indian Women & Continues Domination

India Women took a 2-0 lead in the T20I series with a 24-run victory over England Women at the Seat Unique Stadium. After being put in to bat, India posted a strong 181/4, thanks to a match-defining 93-run stand between Jemimah Rodrigues (63 off 41) and Amanjot Kaur (63 off 40)*. Richa Ghosh provided the finishing touch with a 32* off 20. The third T20I on July 4th will be a must-win for England as India eyes a series whitewash.

Dominant India Blow Away England

At Seat Unique, skies were mild,

England won the toss, they smiled.

Opted to chase, brave and bold,

But little they knew what would unfold.

Smriti walked in, grace in stride,

But Bell and Filer turned the tide.

Verma fell with just a three,

A shaky start, not meant to be.

Mandhana soon was back to rest,

Jemimah Rodrigues then began her quest.

A flurry of fours, one six in flight,

A 63 blazing with warrior’s might.

But hearts would roar for one calm soul,

Amanjot Kaur, she played her role.

With bat like fire, nerves of steel,

Her 63* had dreamlike feel.

Richa Ghosh, with silent flare,

Struck six crisp fours, beyond compare.

Together they forged a stand so fine,

India soared to 181 in time.

Lauren Bell’s spell was tight and grand,

2 for 17 , she made her stand.

But others leaked like summer rain,

As Arlott and Filer toiled in vain.

Then came England, dreams alight,

But India struck in early fight.

Dunkley, Wyatt – gone too fast,

Sciver-Brunt couldn’t make it last.

Beaumont, though, a lioness true,

Fought with strokes so crisp, so new.

A 54 from just thirty-five,

Kept the English hopes alive.

Amy Jones, her partner then,

Scored thirty-two, stood firm again.

But Charani came, oh what a spell!

Two wickets crashed like broken shells.

Ecclestone charged with final breath,

Her 35 fought fire and death.

But Mandhana’s throw, sharp and clean,

Sealed the match — a glorious scene.

Amanjot shone with bat and ball,

Her 1 for 28 said it all.

Player of the Match — she stood so proud,

Among cheers of a rising crowd.

Deepti Sharma wove her spin,

Reddy, Rana, all chipped in.

But it was Charani’s spell so fine,

That shattered England’s batting spine.

157 for 7, England bowed,

India stood, fierce and proud.

A win by 24, they claimed the night,

Dressed in grit and glowing fight.

Harmanpreet smiled, said with care ,

This team, the bond to find it’s so rare

Our unit clicked, from bat to field,

And Jemi-Amanjot never did yield.

They ran so well, placed smart strokes,

And built the game in measured pokes.

We spoke of 150 as a dream,

But 181? That fired the team!

While Sciver-Brunt, though heartsick still,

Said, We fought but missed that will.

Wickets came, yet stands did lack,

And next we rise, we will bounce back.

Amanjot, glowing in her light,

Said, “Was nervous, but I knew I might.

Jemi helped me find my pace,

We built our stand with calm and grace.”

So raise your voice, let colours wave,

For warriors fierce, for hearts so brave.

For cricket’s more than bat and ball ,

It’s courage, dreams, and giving all.
