In the absence of Cameron Green, who is on the sidelines due to back injury for next 6 months, Mitchell Marsh is gearing up to take up the challenge and is said to be ready to deliver with the ball. He also explained about the handy spells of 10 to 13 overs in a game to turn around things.
Marsh has also been told about the same after the Cameron Green‘s news became public. He is looking to roll over his arm over and he will be bowling in the upcoming Sheffield Shield ahead of the first Test against India in Perth on November 22.
The injury concern for Marsh as bowler
It would interesting to see how he is going to ball in upcoming games as he has only bowled four overs after tearing his hamstring in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, he is eager to make a comeback as Mitchell Marsh the bowler on the cricket field. Recently, the Australian all-rounder told the Australian Associated Press.
“I won’t bowl too much for WA, it’s all part of the building process to get ready for that first Test. I love bowling, so I’m looking forward to bowling for Western Australia this week and build from there,” said Marsh.
“I see the allrounder role as being really important, especially for when our bowlers need a bit of a break. I think if you look back at the last few seasons, our all-rounders have bowled maybe 10 to 13 overs a game, which is not really a lot. But those 10 to 13 overs can be really important. So, for me, it’s about preparing to bowl as much as I can, as much as Patty needs me to,” he added.
Mitchell Marsh has picked up 48 wickets in 42 Tests.
Marsh expressed his concern at his colleague
The 32-years-old, also said that these things are part of your playing days. He also gave update on Cam’s injury that he is pretty good as per reports and he will be fine gradually.
“Someone like Cam with his attitude towards the game, he loves it. The thought of missing that much cricket is probably a little daunting for him, but he’s accepted it now and as an athlete, you go through these things. It’s an opportunity for him to come back better and I have no doubt that he will,” Marsh said in the same interaction.
Cameron Green has played 28 Test for Australia so far and scored 1,377 runs along with picking up 35 wickets.
