CSK lost a close, high-scoring thriller against RCB at Chinnaswamy. CSK fully controlled the chase of 214 runs, but two brilliant overs from Suyash and Yash Dayal at the death overs sealed the game for the hosts as RCB won the match by the barest of margins of 2 runs.
First Whitewash for RCB against CSK
RCB has beaten CSK in both league matches this season. This is the first time since 2009 that RCB have beaten CSK twice in the same season. Also, this is the first time they have beaten CSK in both league matches. In 2009, RCB met CSK three times and won twice. The second win came in the Semi-final.
This is the first time RCB has whitewashed CSK in a season. Since CSK are out of the playoffs and there is no chance for both teams to face in the knockouts, this is officially the whitewash for CSK against RCB.

RCB started well in the powerplay, but CSK bowlers pulled off well in the middle overs. RCB went from 71/0 in 6 overs to 159/5 in 18 overs. Romario Shepherd and Tim David were batting in the crease. It looked like RCB might score somewhere between 180 and 190 runs.
Romario Shepherd changed the game completely in the last 2 overs. He scored 53 runs off 14 balls. RCB finished the innings with 213/5 in 20 overs This is the second fastest fifty in IPL history and fastest by a RCB batter. He shares the record with KL Rahul and Pat Cummins.
