Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal had a brilliant partnership before Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out. Virat Kohli and Jaiswal had a major miscommunication and both players ended up at the same end giving Australians an easy opportunity for a runout. India is chasing a mountain of 464 runs which Australia got in the first innings.
India is on the back foot in the fourth test match of the Border Gavaskar trophy. After a brilliant 100 from Steve Smith and a supporting half-century from Marnus Labuschagne and Sam Konstas Australia held themselves way ahead in the test match. India was chasing the game right from the start of Day 2.
After India lost the first two wickets at a mere total of 51, Virat Kohli and Jaiswal steadied the ship for India. Both were playing very patiently and with a clear mindset. Australian bowler kept on attacking Virat Kohli and Jaiswal but they both had enough answers to see the Aussies off for quite a while.

After a brilliant start to their partnership and both seeing off a disciplined spell of the Australian pacers both seemed comfortable on the wicket and Australia was in for a long 1st innings from India. They both had a 100-run partnership before Jaiswal got out. Jaiswal contributed 59 runs and Virat Kohli got 35 runs in the partnership.
Jaiswal drove a full delivery from Scot Boland’s off-stump straight to mid-on and started for a fast single. However, Kohli simply watched the ball from his crease. Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, attacked the ball and attempted a throw, but it went wide at the striker’s end. In order to achieve the run-out, Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey raced in, picked up the ball, and ran up to the stumps.
Before leaving, a disgruntled Jaiswal told his senior partner that it was his call. Jaiswal looked unhappy when he walked back and Kohli looked in despair after the mishap in the middle. Their partnership was crucial for team India as they were chasing a mammoth total in the first innings.
This mishap caused a mini collapse for Team India as they were restricted to 164-5 soon after. India are now chasing a mountain of 310 runs with only 5 wickets in hand. Rishabh Pant and Jadeja are already on the wicket. Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar are the remaining recognized batsmen that are yet to bat.
