SRH vs RR: Records Shattered By SRH’s Ishan Kishan & Co In A Run Fest Contest

Second highest total

SRH recorded the second highest total in IPL history. The first place is also held by SRH. They became the only T20 team to score 280+ runs twice. Last year Travis Head told that they have a chance of breaching the 300 run mark in IPL. This with the inclusion of Ishan Kishan, this seems to be very much possible in the upcoming games.

Ishan Kishan splendid 100

Ishan scored 106* runs of 47 balls in this match. His maiden IPL hundred and it came in just 45 balls. He became the second player after Jonny Bairstow to score a hundred for SRH in their debut game for the franchise. Bairstow did it in 2019 vs RCB. That was also his IPL debut. Ishan Kishan adds extra spice to this already dangerous batting line up of SRH.

Jofra Archer’s expensive spell

RR brought Archer back in their team for 12.50 crores in the mega auction. But sadly it’s been a highly disappointing start for both RR and Archer in this season. Archer went for 76 runs in his 4 overs registering the worst spell ever in IPL history. The previous worst was Mohit Sharma’s 73 runs in 4 overs against DC in 2022. Archer was never same after the injury. He is lacking his extra pace and mix of variations.

Travis Head & Abhishek Dismantle RR in powerplay

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma has a huge impact in this massive change in approach for SRH from IPL. They both set the tone in powerplay in every match. They have a created a new record by crossing 90 runs in the powrplay for most number of times.

After yesterday’s innings they have now crossed 90+ runs in powerplay for 3 times. The previous best was shared between SRH and CSK while both crossing it 2 times respectively.

All these 3 innings have come only in the span of last 18 innings from last year to this year. They also hold the record of being the only team to cross hundred runs in powerplay twice. Both came last year.

By seeing their current batting form, we can definitely expect them to add more in this season.
