Robin Uthappa feels Sanju Samson hasn’t finished yet
The squad for the Sri Lanka tour announced Sanju Samson wasn’t included in the ODI squad despite having a good flow in recent games, he scored a century against South Africa and played a responsible inning still he couldn’t make his place in the ODI. Sanju Samson and Exclude go hand in hand his game has improved a lot compared to the last few years but still, he received a handful of chances to represent the country. He was part of the World Cup-winning squad but couldn’t make it into the XI, so this hide-and-seek game with Sanju Samson continues. However former Indian batter Robin Uthappa feels Sanju Samson hasn’t finished yet he has potential to make it into the squad and he can play for another 5-6 years. Robin Uthappa said:
“From Sanju’s perspective, this is not the first time he has gone through it. I don’t think it will be the last time he will go through it as a player, but Sanju’s one-day numbers have been quite incredible. I think, again, with changes in the leadership group or changes within the leadership group. Things have to kind of settle down a little bit and we as fans and supporters of the Indian cricket team have to give that space to kind of settle down as well.”
“So, I think Sanju is not out of contention as with any other player. I think. It’s a matter of time, and he will get his opportunity, but when the opportunities do come, he will have to grab those opportunities to make sure he steps up with solid performances that keep him in the running.”
Many players face such politics and so the selectors are blamed for excluding such players who have potential and still they couldn’t make their place. Ruturaj Gaikwad also got trapped in the same case his Zimbabwe series went good scored 2 half -centuries but was left out of the Sri Lanka tour. Yuzvendra Chahal also faces the same including in the World Cup squad that didn’t play and is now left out of the Sri Lanka tour. Such politics will keep continuing but players will never stop playing cricket.
