SA 2025: “It’s A Shame” – Jos Buttler Pulls Out Of SA20 2025 For England Duties

Jos Buttler is a great white ball player and he has played over the years in different leagues like IPL, SA 20, and also for England, his contribution is well appreciated. England will be eyeing to win their maiden Champions Trophy in the CT 2025 edition which is scheduled to be placed in Pakistan and before that England have an ODI series scheduled against India in India in January 2025.

Whenever Jos Buttler is in form just keep in mind he bolstered his game in every match and so he has scored a couple of centuries in IPL too. In IPL 2022 he scored 3 centuries and bagged the orange cap. Jos Buttler’s captaincy has also come under the radar following 2 disappointing performances in ICC events of ODI WC 2023 and T20 WC 2024.

Jos Buttler backout from the SA 20 League

SA20 League which commenced in 2023 and SunRisers Eastern Cape are the champions of both seasons. IPL owners have owned the teams and named them after the IPL teams. Jos Buttler plays for Paarl Royals but due to national duties he has backed out himself and wrote an emotional note on social media. Jos Buttler said:

“This is a message to the Paarl Royals fans,” Buttler said on Royals’ X account. “[I am] disappointed that I won’t be coming back to the SA20 this year. There are some England games on and my full focus will be there. It’s a shame I won’t be coming back to the tournament. I have got a lot of love for the tournament. Huge amount of love for the Paarl Royals and especially the Paarl Royals fans. I wish you all the best in the competition and hopefully, I can come back in the future.”

Yesterday Dinesh Karthik announced that he will be joining the Paarl Royals and with that, he became the first Indian to play SA 20 League. However, Jos Buttler’s presence will be missed by the team but country first is what every player thinks. England will be touring India during that phase when SA20 League will start.  It will start from January 9 to February 8. While England tour of India will start from January 22 to February 12.
