Ishan Kishan, alongside Abhishek Sharma, dazzled under the lights in Jaipur, and they outshone Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored a ton as SRH won this game with an over to spare and wickets in hand. It was a great effort from the Orange Army to win this game. Earlier in the game, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s fiery century powers RR to 228/6 in 20 overs. Post Vaibhav’s dismissal, the innings nosedived, and the hosts left a few runs on the field.
In reply, RR were shoddy in the field with regard to dropped catches which allowed SRH to do well and put pressure on RR. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma dazzled and made the home team pay. Heinrich Klaasen looked good as well, with SRH winning the contest in 18.3 overs, winning by 5 wickets.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s magical ton powers RR to a competitive 228/6
Put into bat first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi came out to bat for RR, while Praful Hinge had the ball in hand for SRH. Vaibhav was off and running straightaway as he hit 4 sixes off consecutive balls in the first over. Jaiswal also got a few boundaries as well. But Vaibhav was on a roll. The first wicket partnership was worth 40 runs in 2.2 overs before Jaiswal fell for 10 off 8 balls with 2 fours to his name to Eshan Malinga. Dhruv Jurel came out to bat next.
Jurel took his time in the initial phase of the partnership, but there was no stopping Vaibhav as he looked like a million dollars and dazzled under the Jaipur lights. Vaibhav was on a roll now. RR reached 76/1 in 6 overs of power play. The duo carried on and aced the middle phase as well. They kept the tempo going, which helped RR stay ahead in the contest.

The duo of Vaibhav and Jurel added 112 runs for the second wicket before Jurel fell for 51 off 35 balls with 8 fours and one six to his name to Nitish Kumar Reddy. Riyan Parag, the captain, came out to bat next. Vaibhav soon completed his second IPL ton and added 18 runs for the 3rd wicket with Parag. Vaibhav completed his ton and then was dismissed for 103 off 37 balls with 5 fours and 12 sixes to his name by Sakib Hussain. Donovan Ferreira came out to bat next.
Ferreira was quickly off the blocks and added quick runs for his side. Parag was just hanging in there. The duo added 21 runs for the 4th wicket before Parag was cleaned up for 7 off 9 balls by his opposite number, Pat Cummins. Shimron Hetmyer came out to bat next and struggled for timing as SRH were pulling things back nicely. Ferreira gave the finishing kick that this innings required. The duo added 23 runs for the 5th wicket before Ferreira departed for 33 off 16 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes to his name to Malinga. Ravindra Jadeja came out to bat next.

Hetmyer and Jadeja added 11 runs for the 6th wicket before Hetmyer fell for 11 off 10 balls with one four to his name to Praful Hinge. Jofra Archer came out to bat next. 3 runs were added to the score before the innings ended as RR ended with a massive but not match-winning 228/6 in 20 overs. It was a competitive total with Jadeja unbeaten on 4 off 3 balls with a boundary to his name. Jofra Archer finished with an unbeaten 2 off 2 balls. 7 extras given by the fielding side.
It was a decent effort by the SRH bowlers on a batting deck. Eshan Malinga was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/38 in 4 overs. Pat Cummins, the captain, is back with a bang with figures of 1/27 in 4 overs. Praful Hinge finished with 1/49 in 4 overs. Sakib Hussain finished with 1/62 in 4 overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy finished with 1/20 in 2 overs. Shivang Kumar went for 31 runs in 2 overs. So, this meant that SRH needed 229 for the win and two important points.

Chasing 229 for the win, Impact Player Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma came out to bat for SRH. Jofra Archer had the ball in hand for RR. Travis Head was dropped in the first ball of the innings but the first wicket partnership was worth 7 runs before Head fell for 6 off 5 balls with one six to his name to Archer. Ishan Kishan came out to bat next.
It was the Ishan Kishan show alongside Abhishek Sharma as the duo got in and took the game away from the opposition. RR didn’t help their cause either as they dropped multiple catches of Sharma who made them pay big time. The duo put on a match-winning stand. The SRH team were 89/1 in 6 overs of power play. They carried on doing that work.

Ishan was the aggressor of the two while Abhishek was equally hitting it. The duo added a brilliant 132 run stand off 55 balls before Abhishek fell for 57 off 29 balls with 11 fours and one six to his name to Donovan Ferreira. Heinrich Klaasen was the new man in with the score at 139/2 in 10 overs.
Ishan became more aggressive after Abhishek fell while Klaasen held the innings together. The duo added 27 runs for the 3rd wicket before Ishan Kishan fell for 74 off 31 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Nitish Kumar Reddy came out to bat next. Nitish and Klaasen forged a nice partnership and held the innings together. The duo added 53 runs for the 4th wicket before Nitish Reddy fell for 36 off 18 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Salil Arora came out to bat next.

Just one run was added to the total before Klaasen fell for 29 off 24 balls with 3 fours and one six to his name to Brijesh Sharma. Aniket Verma came out to bat next. Arora finished things off in style as SRH chased 229 runs to win in 18.3 overs. Arora remained unbeaten on 8 off 3 balls while Verma was unbeaten on 1 off 1 ball. 18 extras given by the fielding side as this game was done and dusted.
For RR, Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/34 in 4 overs. Brijesh Sharma finished with 2/44 in 4 overs. Donovan Ferreira finished with 1/14 in one over. Nandre Burger finished with 0/50 in 3.3 overs. Tushar Deshpande finished with 0/43 in 3 overs. Riyan Parag bowled an over for 12 runs. Ravi Bishnoi the impact player bowled an over for 16 runs. Ravindra Jadeja bowled an over for 11 runs. So, SRH win by 5 wickets with 9 balls to spare to climb towards the third place in the points table. RR slips to 4th place. Ishan Kishan was awarded the Player of the Match.
What Lies Ahead
So, SRH with another win moves to 3rd in the points table while RR slips to the 4th place in the points table. SRH will play MI next Wednesday while RR faces PBKS next on Tuesday. Tomorrow, it is CSK vs GT in Chennai followed by LSG vs KKR in Lucknow. So, a lot to look forward to in this game for MI. Let’s see how things go from here.
