RCB beat RR comfortably by 9 wickets in their first match of the season at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium. They continue their streak of breaching the opponent’s fortress. All their 4 win came in away matches. RCB is looking a force to reckon with not so many loopholes in both batting & bowling departments.
The team under the leadership of Rajat Patidar has excelled massively as his calm & composed captaincy nature has somewhat brought the best out of players in crunch situations of he match. RCB has now won 4 matches out of 6 and are placed at 3rd position in the points table, and a couple of more wins can take them closer to the qualification for the playoffs.
Another half century for KING Virat Kohli
When Virat Kohli scored a half-century yesterday (*62 runs in 45 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes), it was his 58th fifty in the league and his 100th fifty in the format. He is the second batter after David Warner and the first Indian to achieve this feat. Having retired from T20Is last year, Virat is still playing IPL for his franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and continues to perform consistently with runs.
He also evolved his game and improved his strike rate in recent years, by adding few more shots into his armoury. After stepping down from Captaincy in 2022, he is playing with more freedom and having such a player at the top order is a big boost for the team.
RCB’s dominance in away games
RCB have 4 games so far in this season and all 4Â came in away games. they lost both the matches at home. All the 4 away games which they won are the teams which are known for their dominance in home ( CSK, MI, KKR, RR ). The way RCB chased down 175 with 2.3 overs left and with 9 wickets left augurs that they are quite well equipped to different conditions.
Rajasthan Royals have the second best win percentage at their home ground Sawai Man Singh stadium only next to Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. But, RCB have performed pretty well in RR’s den. they have won 5 out of 10 matches here.
