Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League won the finale against Punjab Kings by 6 runs. It is the RCB teammates’ time to celebrate their victory. All the RCB fans waited over 18 years to witness this day. Finally, RCB won the IPL 2025 maiden along with a trophy.
Rajat Patidar was delighted after winning IPL 2025
While celebrating their victory, the RCB captain Rajat Patidar credited half of their win to Virat Kohli. He quoted, “It is really special for me, special for Virat Kohli and all the fans who have supported us for years. So I think they all deserve it. After Qualifier 1, we thought we could do this,”
In terms of scoring in the IPL finale, Patidar exchanged his visions. According to him, they have executed the match finely. He quoted
“I think 190 was a good score on this track because it was a bit slow. The way our bowlers executed their plans was tremendous to watch,”
He also mentioned Krunal Pandya’s contribution in this match by praising his bowling style. He said,“ [On Krunal Pandya] Of course, he is a wicket-taking bowler. Whenever I come under pressure, I check where KP is. I had a lot of belief in him.”
On the other hand, he praised other players such as Suyash Sharma, Bhuveshwar Kumar, along with Hazlewood and Romario. He said, “Suyash [Sharma] also bowled really well throughout the season and all the bowlers, fast bowlers, Bhuvi [Bhuvneshwar Kumar], Yash [Dayal], [Josh] Hazlewood. And the way Romario [Shepherd] came in and the way he gave two-three overs and that breakthrough [Shreyas Iyer’s wicket], I think that was really special.”
Rajat Patidar on the importance of Virat Kohli
Patidar was thankful to have the most experienced senior, Virat Kohli, in his team. In his captaincy, he learned a lot from Kohli, certainly, he was informed. He also indicated that Kohli deserved more than anyone else. He quoted, “It’s a great opportunity for me to captain him [Kohli] and it was a great learning for me. And as I said, I think he deserves it more than anyone else – Virat Kohli and all the fans. And after that, I think everyone who has supported, everyone, the management, the support staff, the coaching staff. I think the way they have supported every player, I think that was beautiful.”
As a captain, Rajat Patidar accomplished the whole IPL match excellently. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru, after a prolonged wait, won the Indian Premier League 2025 under his captaincy. This triumph is not just RCB’s but for the whole RCB fans who have waited to capture this moment.
