RCB vs PBKS: “I Am Very Proud Of Every Individual”- Shreyas Iyer Backs Players Despite Losing Final

Punjab Kings team captain Shreyas Iyer was amazed by all the PBKS teammates’ bowling and fielding performance on the ground, despite losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB achieved 190/9. But PBKS lost the match by 6 runs (184/7).

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, shared a heartfelt note to all his PBKS teammates for showcasing their skills until the Finale. He said, “I am very proud of every individual who has participated in the team.”

While praising PBKS members, he also mentioned the newly joined young star who played well against RCB. It was quite impressive. He quoted, “And a lot of the youngsters who have played their first season and the fearless nature that they showed, it was simply phenomenal. I keep on saying the same thing again and again, but hats off to every individual who has been here, who has contributed as support staff, management. I think without them, we wouldn’t have reached so far. So kudos to them. And also, you know, the job is still half done and we have to receive the trophy next year,”

With the hope of winning next year, he discussed how this match can be their wonderful experience prepare them for the next IPL game. This thrilling match can be a good catch to plan and strategise, as per Iyer. He informed,

“Definitely, the way we turned up to every game, every individual stepping up at the right time and saying that I can win the match. There are so many youngsters in the team. I think they have gained a lot of experience from these matches. And I’m sure that next year when they come, they’ll be having immense experience with them. And with that, we can build the tactics and strategies around so that we can play some decent cricket around,”

Considering where they beat the Mumbai Indians with just 5 wickets, Shreyas Iyer also spoke about their previous game. “Considering the game we played last against MI (where PBKS chased down 204), I personally felt that 200 was a par score,” Iyer said. “But they bowled brilliantly, especially Krunal, the way he came in. He has a lot of experience. He has done it over a period of time. And even today, the way he bowled, it was simply phenomenal. And I think that was the turning point.”

PBKS vs RCB Final was undeniably a stunning match. Nobody expected the game would be turned into a stressful one in the middle of the game. However, RCB changed their fortune against PBKS and won the IPL final 2025 trophy along with the title.
