Pakistan Suffers 2-0 Series Defeat: Bangladesh Clinches Thrilling Win at Rawalpindi

Pakistan could not stop Bangladesh from reaching to the remaining 143 runs on the fifth and final day of the second Test played at Rawalpindi and thus the series ended 2-0 in favour of Bangladesh.

Responding to the reporters after the second Test match where Pakistan team has lost the match, Gillespie said that he wants to support the players regardless of the losses incurred.

“Shan I feel has led the side very well. We just haven’t played well as a team and that’s the reality. We need to sharpen up on certain areas and we will sharpen up. I really want to back and believe in these players, they are good enough and have shown glimpses of how good we are. We just need to do it more often and consistently,”

Test Woes Continue: Pakistan’s Home Record Marred by Decades of Defeats

Pakistan achieved this home test win for the last time in early One thousand nine hundred sixty five and has subsequently lost to the Aussies, Englishmen as well as the Bangladeshi cricketers.
While talking to the mediapersons at the post-match presentation ceremony, he said that Pakistan was affected by some batting failures but added that ‘losing from 26-6’ hit Bangladesh hard.
“We thought we were playing good cricket in Australia but not doing the job, that’s something we need to work on. It has happened four times in my tenure that we have left the team back into the contest when we were dominating,”
“274 was a good score in the first innings, me and Saim [Ayub] could have got more runs like Litton. But we should have done better from having them at 26/6. That’s something we need to work on and work on quickly,”
Pakistan will next take on England in three Test cricket games and the first of these games will start from October 7.
