After commencing of MLC season 2 first match in Moseville let’s head to Grand Praire Stadium Texas were home team Texas Super Kings locked horns with Los Angeles Knight Riders. Los Angeles Knight Riders won a thrilling match and opened their account in the first match.
Unmukt Chand saves Los Angeles
Los Angeles was invited to bat first but Los Angeles stuck in a fuss in start of the match as they lost both openers quite early. Indian batter Unmukt Chand came as a savior and played a crucial knock of 68 runs which made Los Angeles to reach a respectable score of 162. Later Nitish Kumar played a cameo innings of 26 runs and finishing touches by tailenders Derone Davis and Corne Dry was also an important contribution to the innings.
Decent performance by Texas bowlers
Texas Super Kings had won the toss and opted to bowl and proved beneficial for them. Zia-ul-Haq was an economical bowler and picked 2 wickets, while other bowlers like Gerald Coetzee, Aaron Hardie, Marcus Stoinis picked 2 wickets each but overall they put a solid fight and it was a decent performance.
Texas Super Kings chase failed, Devon Conway fifty in vain
So the target for Texas Super Kings was 163 and they had a decent start while chasing, thought they lost just one wicket but later they didn’t got a chance to comeback though Devon Conway was standing with pride on one side. Clinton Savage played a cameo innings but it went in vain as they came close to the target but fell short by 12 runs. Devon Conway scored a half century but it went in vain. Texas Super Kings fought quiet well but the support was not that enough they could win.
Ali Khan stole the show with the bowl
Los Angeles Knight Riders registered the target onboard, now its time for bowlers to shine the evening, and they rose to the occasion. Out of every bowlers Ali Khan made the day with the bowl, he picked 4 wickets and shined in the match. Other bowlers also bowled pretty well and their contribution was immense and brilliant. Spencer Johnson took 2 wickets while Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine picked 1 wicket each. Ali Khan was adjourned as Player Of the Match.
