KKR vs PBKS: Boundaries Rained First PBKS, Then The Skies Did

Everyone was ready for a cracking contest between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens — big runs, bold chases, and playoff dreams on the line. But sometimes, no matter how perfect the stage is, nature steps in and calls the shots.

PBKS posted 201/6 after a flying start, but rain washed out the match with KKR at 7/0 after one over. Both teams shared a point, pushing PBKS into the top four, while KKR stayed seventh. A night full of promise ended with the rain gods having the final say.

PBKS vs KKR a story of ifs and buts

It was a night to remember, with stakes set high,
Punjab Kings and Knight Riders, under the same sky.
Rahane tossed the coin, with a smile and grace,
But the prodigal son, Iyer, won this race.

With PBKS on the board, they’d bat first today,
No Stoinis or Bartlett, but the battle would stay.

Priyansh and Prabhsimran open the show,

Shreyas and Maxwell ready to go.

Marco, Inglis, Nehal, and the crew,

Yuzi and Arshdeep, doing what they do.

For KKR, it’s win or bust,

Rahane leads with a lot of trust.

Rinku, Andre, and Venkatesh too,

Powell and Narine, coming through.

Vaibhav, Sakariya, and Varun in the game,

The Knights are here to make their name.

Under Eden’s lights, it’s do or die,

PBKS and KKR reaching for the sky.

Blistering Start by PBKS openers

Priyansh and Prabhsimran opened the show,

First ball — a boundary, the runs started to flow.

Arya placed them sweet, finding every gap,

Then Singh joined in, with a six on tap.

Boundaries rained, KKR under the gun,

Sakariya dropped one — PBKS having fun.

Shots kept flying, the fielders just stared,

As Arya’s bat sparked, no bowler was spared.

A half-century for Arya, fifty-three off twenty-seven,

Every shot he played, a slice of heaven.

The two Ps built a partnership so strong,

Boundaries, sixes — the scoreboard raced along.

Arya was flying, six more over cover,

But Vaibhav, the golden arm, had him discover —

A nick to Russell, finger raised high,

Arya walked back for a fiery sixty-nine.

Still, the runs kept flowing without a break,

Prabhsimran now took the center stage.

Another classy fifty, shots all around,

Six over leg, balls clearing the ground.

PBKS crossed one-fifty with ease,

KKR sweating under the Eden breeze.

Vaibhav struck again, Russell took Singh,

Gone for eighty-three — a big innings trimmed.

Maxwell tried but didn’t last long,

Varun spun one and sang his song.

Marco Jansen dropped, then smoked a six,

Finishing the eighteenth with his bag of tricks.

But soon Jansen fell, caught by Venky’s hand,

Inglis walked out, with big shots planned.

A six over off, crunching loud and clear,

PBKS closed strong, two hundred and one to cheer.

Rain plays spoilsport

KKR needed 202 under the lights,

Gurbaz and Narine, hopes taking flight.

Narine punched a boundary to start the fight,

But…

The covers rolled out, the clouds took flight,

Started to drizzle, no chase tonight.

We waited and waited for cricket to play,

But rain had the final, stubborn say.

The match was called off, the points were split,

A night of big dreams, just not fully lit.

Each side takes one, the race goes on,

Under cloudy skies, the game was gone.
