DC’s Karun Nair and Mukesh Kumar are set to miss the IPL playoffs. Karun Nair & Mukesh Kumar have been selected in the India A squad to play three four-day matches against England starting on May 30.
India vs England test series
India is touring England to play 5 Test matches starting June 20. The India A squad is supposed to play three 4-day matches before that. BCCI has announced the India A squad on Friday. Abhimanyu Eashwaran will lead this side.

Karun Nair and Mukesh Kumar to miss IPL playoffs?
Karun Nair and Mukesh Kumar are currently part of the DC squad. They might miss the playoffs if DC qualifies for it. DC are currently in the 5th position on the points table with 13 points in 11 matches. They need to win all three of their remaining matches or atleast 2 out of 3 to improve their chances for qualification.
Karun Nair started his campaign with a massive 89 run knock against MI. But after that knock, he has scored only 65 runs combined in the next 6 innings. Overall, he has scored 154 runs in 7 innings this season with an average of 22. He might not be in a great form but DC will definitely miss his experience on the field.
Mukesh Kumar made his IPL debut in 2023 for DC. He put up a splendid performance in 2024 season by picking 17 wickets in 10 matches. He couldn’t replicate the same this year as he could pick only 9 wickets in 10 matches, but still he is a great asset for the team as he could operate with both new ball and the old ball.
But, DC won’t be too much worried about Mukesh’s absence because they have an apt replacement in the name of Natarajan. Mukesh didn’t play in the last 2 league matches due to an Injury and Natarajan replaced him. They also have Mohit Sharma in the bench.
DC might think of replacing Karun Nair with Sameer Rizvi.
