Punjab Kings (PBKS) were blown hot & cold by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their previous match. PBKS’ skipper Shikhar Dhawan was looking ominous as he struck a fine knock of 70 runs in 50 balls and struck 7 fours and 3 sixes. It seemed as if Shikhar Dhawan rediscovered his mojo as he was timing the ball cleanly & sweetly and showed glimpses of the old Vintage Dhawan.
PBKS though are placed at 7th position on the points table with 2 points from 3 matches. The side was bamboozled by the express pace of LSG’s Mayank Yadav as he was quite unplayable. PBKS might be considering promoting the pinch hitter Liam Livingstone up the order as he has got a wide range of shots which can deceive the bowler and opposition captain.
Gujarat Titans (GT) would be keen to make the most of the winning run against PBKS at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The form of skipper Shubman Gill has been a concern for the team as the right handed batter has got starts but hasn’t been able to capitalize on it which has hurt the team.
Shikhar Dhawan has come in form- Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel. Aakash Chopra pointed out that PBKS haven’t played well and said that they should have defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their previous match. Aakash Chopra stated that Shikhar Dhawan will be key against GT which promises to be an enthralling contest.
“Punjab haven’t played well, to be very honest. They should have won the match in Lucknow. They fell in a heap against Mayank Yadav but they were well ahead in the game. They have won one match, defeated Delhi at home. They have been on the road after that. Bangalore have won just one match and it was against you,” said Aakash Chopra.
“Here Shikhar Dhawan, he has come in form. He started slowly as he hadn’t played cricket for a long time. The opposing bowlers will try to strangulate you, they are like a python, so Shikhar Dhawan will be very important there. I feel he will have a huge role and as a captain as well,” he added.
