Barbados: This T20 World Cup win is even more special for two generations of Indian cricket — Rohit Sharma, who played his final T20I for India on Saturday, and Kohli. This was a heart-to-heart moment for both as the two have been instrumental for the national team in the game format for some time now. For the T20Is, Virat was the leader before he relinquished the position in the year 2021. Rohit then replaced him who also proved to be quite successful for the Indian team in the same post. Following the defeat in the 2022 World Cup T20I semi final both Rohit and Virat did not play T20I cricket in the following year and it was Hardik Pandya who captained the team. They again shifted to the format and Rohit along with Virat Captain, however, Rohit gave his place to Vijay Shankar.

Both Rohit and Virat bowed off from T20I cricket in style second Saturday as they played a pivotal role in helping India to win the cup and the latter was the captain of the side.
