Batting Collapse
Bangladesh again failed when batting and that was perhaps the biggest cause of their elimination. This team rarely attacked since they only got to the net 17 times and only scooped 105/10. 5 overs are left and no batsman has scored a total of sixty runs. Litton Das scored the most in the 54 – the rest of the players failed to get a good start. Tanzid and Najmul Shanto both contributed 5 runs in one over and probably the slow start they took for the rest of the match. The middle order could had made a lot of this start but Shakib Al Hasan (0) and Soumya Sarkar (10) fell to impatient shots. Despite this, the lower order was failed to increase the pace and Bangladesh’s run rate reduced.
Bowling Attack
Khandoker managed only 13 for Bangladesh and Afghanistan’s bowling was far too hot for the Bangladeshi batsmen to handle. Among the bowlers, Rashid Khan did the most damage by taking 4 wickets in 23 runs in his 4 overs and also checkmated the Bangladesh batsmen’s scoring spree. He removed Soumya Sarkarl in his very first over and got the wicket of Towhid Hridoy in his very next over. Mahmudullah also picked up the wicket of a batsman and Naveen-ul-Haq and Noor Ahmed bowled well and stick to their lines and lengths to restrict Bangladesh. Afghanistan’s two spinners Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi bowled their four overs for a meagre 23 runs and restricted the Bangladeshi openers from getting a good start.
