Speedster Jasprit Bumrah was praised by Indian spin legend Ravichandran Ashwin for his performance in the second Test match against England, with Ashwin claiming that “Boomball” was the true “show stealer” of the game. Jasprit Bumrah was the destroyer in chief in the 2nd Test match as he was quite unplayable.
In the first Test, England had defeated India by 28 runs to take a 1-0 lead. However, in the second Test, which India won by 106 runs, Bumrah’s “Boomball,” his pinpoint yorkers, and his ability to put batters under pressure checked England’s highly attacking, optimistic, and result-oriented “Bazball” strategy.
In order to level the series, Bumrah claimed nine wickets during the game and made sure that India won by a commanding 106 runs. Bumrah’s incredible performance earned him the nickname “BoomBall,” and Ashwin praised the pacer for rising to the top of the Test bowling rankings.
