The 51st match of the Indian Premier League 2025 will witness Gujarat Titans locking horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the majestic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 02.SRH are also coming off a positive win over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. However, the ongoing season hasn’t gone the way they would have planned, as they have secured only three wins, but as many as six losses in nine games.
The Pat Cummins-led SRH side still has a slim chance of qualifying for the playoffs, and the team will look to give a final try and hope to win all their remaining five games to pull off a miraculous top four finish.
SRH team performance in IPL 2025
Currently placed ninth on the points table with just three wins and six losses in nine games, SRH comes into this match after a morale-boosting five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, their playoff hopes still hang by a thread.
SRH faces a formidable opponent in Gujarat Titans (GT), who are currently fourth with six wins in nine games. GT, however, are also coming off a loss — an eight-wicket defeat to Rajasthan Royals — and will look to bounce back at home. The pressure is now on SRH to string together all aspects of their game and climb out of the bottom tier of the standings, with just five league matches remaining. SRH coach Daniel Vettori Admits SRH Lacks Consistency Ahead of Gujarat Titans Clash in IPL 2025
I don’t think we have put together a complete performance yet- Daniel Vettori
Ahead of their upcoming clash against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Daniel Vettori addressed concerns about the team’s inconsistent run in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Vettori admitted that SRH has yet to deliver a complete team performance across all departments — batting, bowling, and fielding.
“I don’t think we’ve put together a complete performance yet,” Vettori said during the pre-match press conference.
“In every game, we’ve let ourselves down in at least one area. The top teams are consistent across the board, and that’s the challenge we face — to bowl well, bat well, and field well as a unit. Unfortunately, we haven’t managed to do that consistently.”
While acknowledging the team’s collective shortcomings, Daniel Vettori highlighted standout performances from two rising talents — batter Aniket Verma and spinner Zeeshan Ansari.
“Aniket has impressed us tremendously. For someone in his first IPL season, he’s adapted quickly and is playing a style that really suits the team. He’s become one of our key contributors,” Vettori said.
“Zeeshan Ansari has also been excellent. For a spinner, it’s especially tough in T20s with flat wickets and small boundaries, but he’s competed and contained top international batters effectively.”

The pressure is now on SRH to string together all aspects of their game and climb out of the bottom tier of the standings, with just five league matches remaining. SRH by the way are coming off the a week long vacation from Maldives and they would believe that a much needed break from cricket would rejuvenate them on the cricket field.
